The World War II Monument bring to me many sadness because I just think of how many people lost their lives sacrificing for their country and I think they really deserve this monument so all the people who visit this place will remember and will know of how many people died serving for them as humans and for the United States.

The memorial honor the 16 million American civilians who served the armed forces, the more than 400,000 who died, and all who supported the war of the U.S in the World War II. This monument mostly represent spirit, sacrifice, and commitment of the American War soldier that died for a good cause. The memorial was opened and finished on April 29, 2004 and dedicated on May 29, 2004. It is located to the east of the Washington Memorial and to the west of the Lincoln Memorial between the Constitution and Independent Avenues.

This design was made by Leo A Daly a architectural firm and was designed by St. Florian. The monument was mostly founded by private contributors and received more than $197 million in cash and pledges. I think that this monument should have been to be constructed many more years ago from the 2004 because they should have the honor to be on a monument and be remembered like everybody else that made something important for the United States.

One of the things that more surprised me was that in a wall they were 4048 stars and each star represented 100 dead soldiers so when I saw this I thought that how many of this starts of dead soldiers would be removed if war didnít exist, so this brought me as a Mexican sadness to see all the people dead but if I was an American I would be sad too but mostly proud because in that wall you can see what the U.S is right now, a 1st world country because all the people care and love their country and thatís why the United States is a really powerful, important, and nice country.
