The White House is one of the most recognized buildings in the World. It was built only for the President of the United States. The President has his office on the right if you look at it from the south, and the house is rather big for just one family.

The house has a rather interesting story, it was once the pink house, but since Washington DC was burned out by the british soldiers it was reconstructed and made the White House. The house was designed by an irish architect called James Hoban. He won a competition made by President George Washington and his Secretary of State Jefferson in 1792. The competition was to determine who would create the most important building in the time, the Capitol and the White house. Hobanís design was based on another house on Dublin called the Leinster House, of course that it is not as half of important as the White House but it is still pretty important. President Washington, the first president never lived in the house even though it was finished, the second president, John Adams and his wife were the first to reside in there. The house was pink and burned down by british forces, in 1812, when the house was burnt, Madison called Hoban to design it again and it was finished until 1815.

The White House is without a doubt one of the most beatiful places I have ever visited. Besides it being huge and that it could be a hotel, just seeing from the outside was enough. One of the things I realized, was how protected Obama is. There are guards on the roof to look for any possible danger. In the entrances, there are people dressed in suits that are his bodyguards, and I dont doubt that the people that take care of the grass are carrying a gun or pepper spray.
