    • answer questions from a battle map
    • Analyze and interpret a primary document from the era
    • write a letter from the point of view of a Continental soldier

Task

Section 1: Multiple Choice (20 Questions)

  • Battles to know and understand: Trenton, Princeton, Saratoga, Yorktown, Monmouth,
  • Terms to know and understand: mercenaries, hessians, treaty, musket, guerilla,
  • Others: Conditions of the Treaty of Paris, Situation of African Americans

Section 2: Writing

  • Write a letter home to your family as a soldier in the Continental Army after the Battle of Yorktown. Explain why you were able to defeat the British (3 reasons), give a description of your commander and his leadership, and explain what it was like at Valley Forge.
